We empathise with those who are faced by the challenges encountered when caring for a loved one with dementia. Sometimes it is just not possible to provide the level of care and support required at home. At Brooklyn we are experienced and registered by the CQC to provide elderly care/ dementia care, in a safe, caring and homely environment that allows the individuals to function at their optimum level. We take pride in getting to know everyone and creating a person-centred care plan that is tailored to each individual's needs. Areas such as physical and mental health, personal care requirements, nutrition, likes and dislikes, activities and social network are continually assessed, in order to be update with our Service User's care needs.
Brooklyn House is a small-medium size homely environment where all the residents are person-centred known with regards to their daily needs and not an institutionalised setting. The size of our home sets out a positive outlook where individual resident's needs are well familiarised and tailored met. We have an enclosed cosy garden and our building is securely tightened with adequate security measures in place for the best interest of our residents. Brooklyn House has accessible amenities within walking distance such as Clacton Hospital for appointments where required and general outdoor activities space.
We pride our facility as a source that promote the beliefs and cultural values of Service Users at all times, by our committed care team and Manager. Our care delivery is a continuous 24-hour service for both respite or permanent accommodation. We prioritise our Residents in all that we do, ensuring that their health and well-being are consistently maintained. Our trained and friendly staff provide care, support and stimulation in a dignified respectful manner.
Brooklyn House encourages visits from relatives and friends at any time. And stay as long as they please. Our staff work with Residents' families and their loved ones to provide both practical and emotional support. People with dementia need to be given patience and endurance to maximise their independence, which we demonstrate with their family members to accomplish this.
The daily activities that we do we carry out are tailored to our individual Resident's interests and what they enjoy doing, which is essential. We also do encourage our Residents to participate in various activities of their choice, as part of socialising with others.
As part of improving our care service, we always appreciate the opinions of our Residents and their relatives. Hence, we regularly maintain correspondence with our Residents and their family members, and through meetings and annual survey for feedbacks about our service.
